My FOREX Trading Strategy

I ventured into the FOREX market a little more than 1 year ago. I have tried and tested many different types of trading techniques and styles. Most were failures and some were successful. From my experience, traders making money in FOREX will not reveal their trading system, simply because somebody has to lose money in order for you to make money.

Currently I have two strategies working for me. I started with a demo account a little more than one year ago and used the obvious techniques such as technical analysis and fundamentals. Technical analysis seemed to be the easiest method for an inexperienced trader since it only required looking at charts as opposed to watching the news. I used indicators such as MACD, Fibonacci, and RSI to help assess the market and make a prediction on price movement. Needless to say I was successful in my demo account, however when I went live, fear set in and I could not trade using the same techniques I had developed over 4 months of trading with a demo account.

The stress was too much and like a lot of people, I started looking for a FOREX signals provider to minimize the time spent and stress. After some due diligence on quite a few FOREX signals providers, I did find a reliable FOREX charting software package that provided excellent signals. To my surprise, the signals worked. The only difficult part was to discipline myself to take each signal whether I agreed with it or not. After all, the company I chose had a winning track record for 3 consecutive years.

Now that I had a positive flow of income from a FOREX signals provider, I decided to open a second account using my own trading system. This is where I discovered what I feel is a full proof system when it comes to making a fast 30 to 50 pips in FOREX.

Trading now for a little more than 1 year, I noticed that the market moved on speculation. Speculation based on fear and news events, such as the CPI and retail sales. I noticed that between the times of 4:30 am eastern and 8:30 am there was a lot of critical news in majors such as the Euro and the British Pound. The market would move at the exact moment these major news events were released. If a news event was due out at 4:30 am on the British Pound, more than likely the market spiked at that exact moment 30 to sometimes 50 pips up or down. What I started to do was trade on these news events. I would wait until that exact moment the news was due out and execute a trade when the market moved more than 7 pips from its current price 15 seconds before the news is released. A stop-loss should be set at 10 pips above or below the current price.

The trick to this method is executing the trade at the right time and discipline yourself to keep your stop-loss very tight, setting it to no more than 10 pips after you got into the trade. The reason being, this works all of the time, but if you click too soon or too late you could fail to predict the direction of the market. However, when you are right, your winning trades will outweigh your losing traders significantly since you are looking to make a gain of 30-50 pips and if you a wrong a loss of only 10 pips. I have used this method for 5 months and it works.

Forex Brokers are Valuable Advisors

You should be able to find several indispensable facts about forex broker in the following paragraphs. If there's at least one fact you didn't know before, imagine the difference it might make.

A forex broker is one who assists individuals, traders and firms to trade in the forex market. The assistance can be in the form of providing market information or in conducting the actual trade. In either case, the broker charges a fee according to the services rendered.

The brokers advise clients on forex trading strategies. They also provide real time quotes, and news feeds to forex traders. There are some brokers that provide advice on the basis of their experience, and understanding of the market. There are others who use modern software tools to chart market movements, and arrive at entry and exit points.

The arrival of the Internet and the automation of the forex market have led to the emergence of several brokerage firms. These brokers can provide individuals access to the market, something which was not possible in the past. At that time only banks and large financial institutions were allowed to trade in forex.

See how much you can learn about forex broker when you take a little time to read a well-researched article? Don't miss out on the rest of this great information.

However, this has also led to a mushrooming of foreign exchange brokers, making it difficult for beginners, and even experienced traders, to locate competent brokers. Referrals and recommendations are therefore very valuable in this market. It is always advisable to decide your broker on the basis of a recommendation made by your friend or colleague.

However, it may not always be possible to do so. In that case, it is important to investigate the background of the broker. This can be done by finding out the number of trades being conducted by the broker, and the number of clients the broker services. Another important parameter is the broker's experience. The best brokers are those who have learnt trading the hard way over a number of years. They can feel the market pulse, and provide the right guidance.

The individual must also look at the number of services that a broker provides. This include opening of mini accounts, providing market intelligence, market analysis, news feeds and real time quotes.

Now you can understand why there's a growing interest in forex broker. When people start looking for more information about forex broker, you'll be in a position to meet their needs.

Forex And Commodities Futures And Options. What To Know Before You Trade.

The popularity of trading futures and options has been growly rapidly for several years. The ease of accessing constantly updated data online has prompted an increased fever by day traders to attempt to be successful and make money in this risky investment area. Individuals can now trade these markets with the same ease and speed as large companies.

Trading forex ( foreign exchange ) and commodity futures and options is not for everyone. It is a complex and risky business that experiences volatile price and value swings. Before you invest any money in forex, commodities futures or option contracts, you should:

? Consider your financial trading experience, goals, and financial resources and know how much you can afford to lose above and beyond your initial payment.

? Understand commodity futures and option contracts and your obligations before commiting your finances into trade contracts.

? Understand your risk exposure and aspects of trading by thoroughly reviewing the risk disclosure documents your broker is required to give you.

? Know who to contact if you have a problem or question.

? Ask more questions and gather more information before you open an account.

Commodity futures and option contracts:

A futures contract is a legally binding agreement between two parties to buy or sell a specific financial product or commodity in the future, on a designated exchange, for a specific quantity of a commodity at a specific price. The buyer and seller of a futures contract will agree now on a price for a product to be delivered, or paid, for at a specifically set date and time in the future, which is known as the "settlement date." Actual delivery of the commodity can take place in fulfillment of the contract, but most futures contracts are actually closed out or "offset" prior to delivery.

An option on a commodity futures contract is a legally binding agreement between two parties that gives the buyer, who pays a market determined price known as a "premium," the right (but not the obligation), within a specific time period, to exercise his option. Exercise of the option will result in the person being deemed to have entered into a futures contract at a specified price known as the "strike price." In some cases, an option may confer the right to buy or sell the underlying asset directly, and these options are known as options on the physical asset.

In the United States, an individual, cannot trade futures contracts and options on futures contracts directly on an exchange. A person or firm must trade on your behalf. People and firms who trade on your behalf as a customer generally must be registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Two general categories of trading accounts:

? Individual Account. In an individual account, trading is done only for you. An individual account may be setup as either a "non-discretionary" or a "discretionary" account. A "non-discretionary" account, means that you will make all of the trading decisions and the broker may not execute any transactions without your prior approval and consent. A "discretionary" individual account, means that you give permission to the broker firm carrying your account or some third party to make trading decisions on your behalf.

You may open an individual account with a registered Futures Commission Merchant or through an Introducing Broker. An Introducing Broker may accept your orders and transmit them for execution to a Futures Commission Merchant with which the Introducing Broker has a relationship. You deposit funds directly with the Futures Commission Merchant. In an individual discretionary account, you grant power-of-attorney to a Futures Commission Merchant, an Introducing Broker, one of their Associated Persons, or a Commodity Trading Advisor to make trading decisions on your behalf.

Commodity Pool. You may also trade commodities through a "commodity pool." This means you are purchasing a share or interest in the pool, and trades are executed for the pool as a whole, rather than for the individuals who have interests in the pool. Pool participants share in any gains or losses.

If you have a dispute or a problem arises out of your commodity futures or option account, first try to resolve the problem with your broker. If that is not successful, then you have options for resolving disputes: (1) the CFTC Reparations program; (2) industry sponsored arbitration; or (3) court litigation. In selecting a particular approach, you may want to consider the cost, length of time involved and whether or not the assistance of an attorney is required. More information on dispute resolution is available from the CFTC's Office of Proceedings (202-418-5250).

A Checklist "Before You Trade":

Make sure you have:

? Clearly identified your financial goals, including the amount of risk and loss you can handle?
? Determined how much assistance and help you may want from a trading advisor in making trading decisions?
? Checked the registration status and disciplinary history of the advisor or pool you select with the National Futures Association?
? Received and thoroughly reviewed the disclosure document -- before you open an account?
? Clearly understood the disclosure document, including the statement of fees, the potential for loss, your right to withdraw your funds and the "break-even analysis?"

Make sure you ask questions for anything that you do not understand. Remember, it is your money, make sure you know where it is going.

Call the CFTC or the NFA with any questions you may have?

Trading Forex To Advance Your Financial Position

Everyday, currencies are traded in an international foreign exchange market, otherwise known as the forex market, with the main marketplaces (otherwise known as bourses) existing in the world?s financial centes New York, London, Tokyo, Frankfurt and Zurich. Historically, the only way to participate was from the trading floor of one of these bourses, but today, people can trade forex from anywhere through a secure internet connection and a PC.

Today?s traders operate in a global network, taking positions in the market and making investment decisions based on either relative value between two currencies, or a particular currency?s actual price. Currency value fluctuations are constantly renegotiated through trading activity, and this activity, and the corresponding currency values are also indicators of the levels of currency supply.

An example of market behaviour greater demand for the Euro might indicate a weakening supply. Low supply and increased demand will drive the price of the Euro up against other currencies like the dollar, until the price better reflects what traders are prepared to pay when short supply exists. Another way to look at this situation is this higher demand means it will cost more dollars to buy the Euro, which equates to a weakening of the dollar in comparison. Analysis of situations such as in this example forms the basis for a trader?s investment decisions, and they will purchase or sell currency accordingly.

This should be remembered, as while many see the foreign exchange market as the vehicle for converting their home currency while travelling abroad, many others choose to use the market to advance their financial position and secure their future.

Forex Trading Online - 7 Reasons You Should

Forex trading online is a fast way to use your investment capital to it's fullest. The Forex markets offer distinct advantages to the small and large traders alike, making Forex currency trading in many ways preferable to other markets such as stocks, options or traditional futures. Here are seven reasons why you'll want to look into Forex Trading online.

1 - Forex is the largest market.
Forex trading volume of more than 1.9 billion, more than 3 times larger than the equities market and more than 5 times bigger than futures, give Forex traders nearly unlimited liquidity and flexibility.

2 - Forex never sleeps!
You can execute forex trading online 24/7, from 7AM New Zealand time on Monday morning, to 5PM New York time on Friday evening. No waiting for markets to open: they're open all night! This makes Forex trading online a very attractive component that fits easily into your day (or night!)

3 - No Bulls or Bears!
Because Forex trading online involves the buying of one currency while simultaneously selling another, you have an equal opportunity for profit no matter which direction the currency is headed. Another advantage is that there are only around 14 pairs of currencies to trade, as opposed to many thousands of stocks, options and futures.

4 - Forex Trading online offers great leverage!
You can make the most of your investment resources with Forex trading online. Some brokers offer 200:1 margin ratios in your trading accounts. Mini-FX accounts, which can typically be opened with only $200-300, offer 0.5% margin, meaning that $50 in trading capital can control a 10,000 unit currency position. This is why people are flocking to Forex trading online as a way to highly leverage their investments.

5 - Forex prices are predictable.
Currency prices, though volatile, tend to create and follow trends, allowing the technically trained Forex trader to spot and take advantage of many entry and exit points.

6 - Forex trading online is commission free!
That's right! No commissions, no exchange fees or any other hidden fees. This is a very transparent market, and you'll find it very easy to research the currencies and the countries involved. Forex brokers make a small percentage of the bid/ask spread, and that's it. No longer any need to compute commissions and fees when executing a trade.

7 - Forex trading online is instant!
The FX market is astoundingly fast! Your orders are executed, filled and confirmed usually within 1-2 seconds. Since this is all done electronically with no humans involved, there is little to slow it down!

Forex trading online can get you where you want to go quicker and more profitably than any other form of trading. Check it out and see what Forex trading online can do for you!

The Forex Market explained!

The word Forex is an abbreviation for The Foreign Exchange Market. This is the market in which all is bough and sold is money itself, which means that with certain currencies you can buy other kinds of currencies. It is the largest and most liquid financial market in the entire world. More than one trillion dollars exchange hands everyday on this market. It is a sea full of money with potential to make large and substantial profits. I explain on this article what Forex is all about and how it works.

When talking about the Forex Market the following questions arise.

1) How much money can I make at the Forex Market?
A lot, you can make a fortune!

2) Can I loose money at Forex?
Yes you do. In fact you can loose your entire portfolio just minutes after you start trading.

3) Is it volatile?
Yes it is. It is very volatile.

4) Is it risky?
Yes it is. It is very risky.

5) What is the leverage at this market?
The leverage is usually 100:1 on most firms but sometimes 200:1 and some firms offer up to 400: 1 leverage. This means that for every dollar that you have available for trading you can borrow up to 100 to trade. So with $1000 USD you can control $100,000 of currency. No other market gives you so much liquidity and so much leverage at the same time.

6) How did The Forex Market begin?
Currencies like dollars and sterling pounds were backed up by gold until 1971. After 1971 countries abandoned that norm and started to issue currencies as they pleased so the Forex market originated where central banks could exchange their home currencies for other country currencies. That ensured certain security for the banks in case their own currencies devaluated against the one they were exchanging it for. So if a bank sold dollars and bought sterling pounds and the dollar devaluated too much in relationship with the sterling pounds, the bank didnt loose money, because they had bought large amounts of sterling pounds. Do not confuse Forex with the money exchanging business. The money exchanging business dates back to thousands of years ago. People exchanged one kind of coin for another, silver for gold, etc. Today we exchange one currency for another through The Forex Market.

7) Why did nobody know much about Forex until recently?
Until a few years ago only the big guys could play this game. The initial requirement was that you could trade only if you had about ten to fifty millions to start. Remember that this was intended to be used by bankers and multinational corporations not little guys. Forex was widely opened to everyone on the 90s decade, a very few years ago. It is the number one market in many different aspects. It is the most liquid, largest and it is growing fastest than any other financial market in the world. It attracts many new investors because of its large leverage and low starting funding requirement. Some firms let you start with a mini-trading account which reacquires only $300 - $350 to fund your account and start trading.

8) How can I make lots of money on The Forex Market or how can I loose it all fast?
You can leverage your positions at 100:1. That means that if you start with $1,000 at full margin you can trade $100,000 of currency. Check this out. If you have $1,000 to trade and you want to buy euros for example, if the EUR/USD pair is at 1.32 and it rises to 1.33 in ten minutes you make a $1,000 profit in just ten minutes. You double your initial investment. But if you are wrong and the price goes down to 1.31 then you suddenly loose your entire investment. By just a 1-% change on the underlying you make a huge gain or a huge lost. Imagine that you are right on a long-term trade at 100:1 leverage and the pair change in value 20% favorably to you. If you traded $1,500 you would get around $30,000. This could happen in just one day, but at the same time if you are wrong and the market moves against you, you could loose your entire portfolio in 5 minutes. So you must be informed and you must know what you are doing if you want to make money on this market. High leverage and low initial funding requirement is what attracts many new and potential investors to Forex.

9) How can I start trading?
Forex trading is still controlled by an inter-bank system. There are no broker fees to pay and no commission. It is different to the stock market where you must pay commissions to the brokerage firm for every order executed. At Forex there is just a slight difference between the trading quote and the actual price of the currency. For example if you are trading the EUR/USD pair and the pair is trading at 1.3235 you will get a quote at 1.3237. You see the differences. That small difference goes to the Forex Firm through which you are trading. I personally believe that Forex encourage online trading more than any other financial market. Many individuals are self-made traders and trade from home or business offices. You just open an account with a Firm like Oanda, Refcofx, GFT or any other. There are many out there. Just choose the one that best fits your needs and interests. After you fund your account you will be able to start trading.

As you can see Forex is very interesting, profitable and at the same time risky. So people make fortunes and others loose their life savings. Information is the key. I just briefly described some aspects of The Foreign Exchange Market on this article.
